Why it happens

It isn’t spite. Often, it’s stress.

Cats need to feel in control of their territory: where they eat, sleep, watch and go to the toilet, and who comes near. When something about the home, the other animals or the people around them feels wrong, many cats show it the only way they can.

A puddle on the bed. Claws in the sofa. A swipe at the other cat. Hours under the bed. Four problems that look nothing alike, and often start in the same place.

Think of your cat’s day as a glass of water. Every small thing that bothers them adds a little: a box that’s too small, a new sofa, the cat next door, a busy morning. Your cat copes with each one, until the glass is full and the next small thing spills it over. What you see is the spill.

  • the box or the post
  • changes at home
  • another animal
  • something outside
  • too many hands
Each small stress adds a little. The spill is what you see.

It’s a picture, not a scientific model. But it explains the plan: find the biggest drops, and take them out, one at a time.

One guide, four tracks

Whichever problem brought you here

Part 1 and Part 3 are for every cat. In Part 2 you follow the track for the problem at home; the other three are there if you need them.

What’s inside

Three parts, four tracks, twelve sheets

A PDF to keep, with a contents page that takes you straight to your track, and one email a day.

  • Part 1, for every cat: before you start, the full glass, the three rules; Day 0, the vet visit, with the “go today” signs for each problem; Days 1–3, the home map, the signs and what fills the glass. It ends with “Which problem are you seeing?”, and where to start if it’s more than one.
  • Part 2, four tracks: Days 4–10, one change a day, after a plug-in diffuser on the evening of Day 3, for peeing outside the box, scratching furniture, aggression towards other animals or people, and fear and hiding. Each can be read on its own, with the questions owners ask most. The aggression track opens with its safety chapter.
  • Part 3, for every cat: Days 11–14, Review: what your notes say, what stays, and what to do if not much has changed. Then Keep: a weekly check for six weeks, and what to do after a setback.
  • Twelve printable sheets: eight for everyone, from the vet visit sheet to the weekly check, and one for each track.

The 14 days, one email each

Day 0 comes in the delivery email, with the guide and the vet sheet. It asks you one question: which problem are you seeing? Choose your track with one click, and from the next morning one email a day brings that day’s step, for Days 1 to 14.

Day 0 · Rule out: your guide is here; start with the vet, and choose your track.

Days 1–3 · Read: draw a map of your home · read the signs · find the drops in the glass.

Days 4–10 · Reset: first, on the evening of Day 3, a plug-in diffuser, the same for every track; then seven steps on your track. For the litter box: the old spots, a bigger box, the litter, the place, one box per cat plus one, the old spot’s new job, the window. For scratching: the right post, in the right place, made the best spot in the room, then the sofa made less interesting, claws, what may be behind extra scratching, and play.

For aggression: space, two of everything, hands are never toys, letting your cat say when, good things from far away, smell before sight, the cat at the window. For fear: more hiding places, food and a box within reach, the same day every day, letting your cat come to you, play from a distance, the scary thing made smaller, and a plan for the hard days.

Days 11–14 · Review: what your notes are telling you · keep it, adjust it or step back · if not much has changed · your plan for the weeks after.

If your cat has more than one of these

It’s common: a cat who hides may also stop using a box on the far side of the house, and tension between cats often shows up as spraying. The guide tells you where to start.

  1. Safety first. If anyone is getting hurt, people or animals, start with the aggression track, and keep its safety rules from today, whatever else you do.
  2. Then whatever is urgent for the vet. Straining in the box, a sore paw, a cat who stops eating: the vet comes before any track.
  3. Then the problem that weighs most on your cat. Your notes from Days 1–3 show which one.

One track at a time. When you’ve finished it, Review tells you whether to start the next one at its Day 4.

The rules, in plain words

Money back on the guide for 30 days. Try the guide for 30 days from the day it arrives. If it isn’t right for you and your cat, write to us and we refund you in full, even if you’ve started it.

Your right of withdrawal on the guide. EU law gives you 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. For a guide, that right ends once it’s delivered: at checkout you ask for it to be delivered straight away, and you accept that the right of withdrawal ends when it is. Until then, you can still withdraw.

Little Wins, Felina Home and the method kit. For Little Wins, Felina Home and its refills, and each delivery of the method kit, you have 14 days from the day they arrive to withdraw, as EU law gives you, and we refund what you paid for them, with the standard delivery cost. The terms of sale, published when sales open, will have the details.

To ask for your money back, send one email to hello@felinacatcare.com from the address you used to pay. No form.

Is this guide for you?

It’s for you if your indoor or mostly indoor cat pees or sprays outside the box, scratches the furniture, lashes out at another animal or a person, or hides and won’t settle, and you’re ready to change a few things, one at a time, and keep a few notes. One cat or several, a flat or a house, home all day or out at work.

See your vet first if it started suddenly, or your cat seems unwell. Ask your vet about a veterinary behaviourist first if someone has been seriously hurt, or young children can’t be kept apart from the cat.

It isn’t for you if you’re hoping for a product that sorts it out with no changes at home, or a promise that it will be over by a certain date. We don’t sell one, and we won’t make one.

Questions

Before you start

Why one guide for four problems?

Because they so often come together, in the same cat and the same home, and the method is the same for all four. The vet visit, the three days of watching and the review at the end are shared, so they’re written once. What’s different, the seven days of changes, has a track of its own for each problem.

Do I have to read all of it?

No. Part 1 and Part 3 are for everyone, and in Part 2 you read your track. The contents page takes you straight to it, and the daily emails link to the right page each morning.

It started suddenly. Should I begin here?

No, start with your vet. Sudden changes can have medical causes, including pain. You can read Days 1–3 while you wait for the appointment: they only ask you to watch and take notes.

When do I get the guide?

Right after payment, by email: the PDF and Day 0, the vet check. From the next morning, one email a day for 14 days. If it isn’t right for you and your cat, you have 30 days to ask for your money back.

Will it work, and how quickly?

We can’t promise that, and we’d be wary of anyone who does. Every cat and every home is different. What the guide gives you is a clear way to find what’s behind it and what to change, one step at a time.

Where do Little Wins and the diffuser come in?

The guide is the method, and the changes you make at home are where things happen. Some of those changes use things again and again: a treat for the reward steps, a plug-in diffuser in the room your cat uses most, a toy for play. The method kit brings them, with the next printable step, every 8 weeks, so it’s all at hand and it’s easier to keep going. The complete plan brings Little Wins and Felina Home with the guide, in one order.
